We took him to the dr. on Friday (after he had cried for 4 straight hours at home) to make sure nothing else was going on. But they said it was just horrible stomach flu and gave us a sympathetic pat on the back. I came down with it later that night, but thankfully it lasted for less than a day.
I'm not sure why it lingered so long with Owen but I think we're back in the swing of things. He's had rice cereal, applesauce, and diluted formula and he's kept it all down! (hallelujah since he started to refuse pedialyte after 2 days of drinking it).
The poor little guy has probably lost a pound from it though. He looks skinnier to me.
The bright-side of it all:
- Neither Lucy nor Casey came down with it. SUCH a blessing.
- As The Devil Wears Prada put it, "I'm one stomach flu away from my goal weight". Let's just say that my pants fit better today! (and my abs feel solid)
- Owen went down for bed at 7pm with no complaints. Haven't heard a thing from him yet.
- Today was the most beautiful California day: chilly in the morning, warmed-up by the afternoon to the high 70s, and by 5pm we had perfectly pleasant weather for a park trip. There was even a gorgeous full-moon out.
We have our lives back.
I'm so glad he's starting to feel better! Poor little guy! It's so sad when a young'n gets sick, because it's not like they know what's wrong with them. Aww! Way to keep that food down now! Yay smiles!!
ReplyDeleteYAY! So glad he is getting back to normal...poor guy. And yes, so glad that Lucy and Casey didn't get it.
ReplyDeletepoor guy! He looks so sad in that first picture. i guess I have no reason to complain that Makenna has had a cold for the past 7 days- this sounds much worse! Glad to hear he is doing so much better!
ReplyDeleteHAHAH! i ALWAYS use that line from the devil wears prada...save some of those germs for me because after all this southern food i could use a good stomach flu ;)
ReplyDeleteso glad all the willards are feeling better (or avoided the flu altogether)!
Nothing's worse then sick kids (except maybe a sick husband). I'm glad he's feeling better. I think your kids get cuter every time I see them...
ReplyDeleteGlad that he's feeling better! Call me crazy---Sarah's been a little down and out herself lately and the extra cuddling has been enjoyed by mom! :) The top picture of Casey with Owen reminded me of that.
ReplyDeleteToo bad I'd need many days of flu to feel super comfy in my pants.
I am so glad he is feeling better & yours only lasted 24 hrs. He looks so cute all smiley!
ReplyDeleteI love that line from devil wear prada, so funny!
Oh, I'm so sorry. That is so yucky. I'm so glad that little Owen (and you too) are feeling so much better.
ReplyDeleteGlad he (and you) is better, I hate, hate, HATE when babies are sick.
