pasadena moms

We have been so blessed to have a wonderful group of friends (both moms and kids) here in Pasadena. I'm truly going to miss these fabulous ladies and just pray that I can find one fun friend in our new town! (pictured above: me and Owen with Natalie and Lauren, Laura Daines and Charlie, and June)

To celebrate our moving we had one last pool party hurrah. Sachia has opened her pool to everyone all summer long and we LOVE her for it. What a group:
Anyone else at the pool often seems annoyed with our noise. Oh well. A pool is always more fun with kids. And this pool is the best because it's shallow and completely lined on both sides with stairs. Perfect for kids. We were missing a few of the regulars but here are the fun people we get to hang out with.....

And the only cool thing about getting cleaned up after swimming is.....snacks with friends:
and watching for trains! The pool is on top of the apartment complex, overlooking the Del Mar Train Station. So every 7 minutes, the kids jump up and down as the train comes in for a stop.
Thank you wonderful ladies for being our friends and making us feel loved! Hooray for blogs so we can continue to peek in on your lives. We will truly miss all of you (and the others not pictured here too). You are a fabulous group!

wanna go to the park today?

Nothin says California Summer like a bunch of wildfires. The perfect segue to our departure. Of course, Texas will have it's share of goodies too. What do they get there? Tornadoes? Hurricanes? Floods? I actually have no idea.

slowly, we're packing

You can see the moving boxes! Of course.....they're empty. But hey, we still have a week till the truck arrives. We have accomplished to: get rid of all our junk, organize the garage and closets, play with toys (with war wounds from falling down on the sidewalk):

and sell plenty of things on Craigslist. I finally sold these last night to a girl with a Jetta. I still have no idea how she fit them in there.
They came with the dining room table I bought (which is almost done and looking beautiful) but the chairs weren't really my style. Oh well, someone will love them. The beauty of Craigslist!

Willard Weekend

Casey's youngest brother, Brady, was in town for the weekend so we got most of the Willards together and had some fun. We spent half the day and Grandma and Grandpa's house and the other half at Chad and Lauren's.

We tried on Grandma's vintage Cowboy outfit (in preparation for our new culture?) Owen looked right at home in the get-up:

Next, to Chad and Lauren's. They have a beautiful house which they've been improving on for a few years. Aside from gorgeous new doors I thought this window box was lovely:
The also have a beautiful pool, which the kids loved.
Though I think Grandpa had just as much fun as the kids. Love the wet-hair look:

and eventually she got him to fetch in the pool.

But he quickly went from smiles....to completely worn-out. So he took a nap in the other room....
...while the grown-ups ate lunch outside and Lucy played with Crayons inside. She has this strange new obsession for peeling the wrappers off the crayons. It's bizarre. She did this for about an hour and was perfectly content:
Back at Grandma's house, we ate peanut butter and jelly sandwiches:

Thanks Chad and Lauren for hosting lunch! Brady, it was fun (as always) to see you. The kids sure love their Uncle Brady. And Grandma and Grandpa we always love coming to your house.
