Pretty In Pink

Last night 4 friends and I drove down to Austin for Pretty in Pink night at the Alamo Drafthouse. So. Much. Fun.
I can't remember the last time I'd seen this movie and thus, couldn't remember how it ended! So that made it even more exciting. And seriously, how does she not love Duckie? How much cooler does he look than Blaaaaaaane? "That's a name?? It sounds like a major appliance."
We had Tiffany, Chris, and the underside of Tami's nose.
ah, there she is.
and me and Katherine.
The night started with a "Welcome to the show" from the cute (and funny) blondie girl in the top photo. Note: she has an asymmetrical haircut. Does it get more appropriate than that?

Most people enjoyed their "pink drinks" special:
And we sipped on Dr. Pepper and Diet Cokes.
When Duckie waltzed into the prom, the crowd cheered.
Katherine pumped her fist. Yes!
And Andy looked shocked.

Thank you John Hughes for making the world a better place. It really made me want to be back in high school, but with more of the uh "wisdom" I have now (and slightly improved sense of style). High School and College really were some fun, growing, heart-breaking, exciting times. You do them once and move on to the next thing. I guess I'll have to live it all again through my kids.

Next month the Drafthouse is showing Dirty Dancing. And In March....Clueless! I'm totally pausing for that one.

Thanks girls for a fun night! Let's do it again!

I've never seen this movie. I'll have to Netflix it. As long as it's not one of those depressing high school experience movies. I hate those because my HS experience was bomb! Sounds like more of an uplifting one though.

Sounds like a fun night! I'd so be there for Clueless too.

What a PERFECT girls night outlet! Wishing we had...

I should tell you sometime about the hilariously awkward girls nights some of my neighbors try to wrangle together. None of them involve classic movies from our youth. Most involve WAY TMI about the people I have to make eye contact with the following Sunday. As Cher would say: "What-Ev-Eh"

Ha ha...ok. I am a total Blaaaaane fan. Sorry Duckie. I'm with Andy. I think you're adorable...or did. :)

I love this movie. What a fun time!

Soooooo jealous!! Sounds like so much fun...and Clueless? LOVE that movie!

Breakfast Club and 16 Candles are still two of my all-time faves--along with Reality Bites, of course.

Dammit--we need to have another movie night!!!

FUN!!! What a cool theater (and a super-cool show of course). I love that movie, too. It's so classic. It can't possibly get better than Pretty in Pink, Dirty Dancing and Clueless... AWESOME!!!
