Cheesy and Muddy

A friend summed up life perfectly on her blog "We've been boring and rainy and indoorsy all week." Yep, us too. Not much to blog about but a few pictures to share.

On Saturday, Lucy went to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time! I've been wondering when I'd have to tell her of it's existence. But her little friend Sammy turned 5 and had his party there. And we were lucky enough to join in the fun:
The only LAME aspect (on my part)....I thought it started at 2, but it really started at 12! Doh. So we missed most of the festivities and the other kids. But Doris, Sammy, and Hannah stuck around for a while longer while Lucy lived it up. Too bad she's too young for Skee Ball (I loved that as a kid). She sort of enjoyed this game though:
Sydney and Sammy taking a sketch photo (which are actually really cool and only cost one token!)
Then Sammy, Lucy, and the top of Hannah's head took one too. Sucking on lollypops and not really sure where to look:
That afternoon the rain came down and filled our ghetto asphalt backyard with muddy puddles. Owen couldn't resist, so I didn't either.:
He finally splashed the pot hole dry when he was done:
And oddly enough, he's got a nasty runny nose today. Coincidence? I wonder.
Hope you're having a fun indoorsy day too! (if you're living in the rain or snow)

Cute pics! Even covered in mud Owen is adorable. That says something. :) Someone told me Chuck E Cheese is a necessary evil...but how can it be wrong when skee ball is so right??

I found Chuck E Cheese not terribly friendly to the under 3 set. Caleb tried to have fun, but there was little he really enjoyed. I'm sure there will be plenty of time for all of that and more in his and Lucy's future.

Owen is as adorable as ever!

We still had a fun time with you guys! We'll have to go back on a rainy day during the week (weekends are just too crowded there) and just let the kids play games...and we can enjoy the all-you-can-drink diet coke and barqs. Sounds good to me!

Our 2.5 yr old was splashing in the rain in her church clothes yesterday, and my husband was trying SO hard to get her to stop--I say, let 'em live it up. They're going to outgrow those things soon anyway, and if it stains, I'll just add some sort of embellishment to hide it. Get muddy, that's my motto.

Chuck E scares me--my husband once played the rat, in high school, and has some VERY funny stories, though.

I love the muddy pics!! How totally cute! Way to let your little guy have a good time, even though you knew he'd be a mess afterwards. :-)

And thanks for the anonymous plug. Yaaaay.

Cute pictures of Owen, you need to submit those to some baby modeling agency! Darling!!!

We have been doing the same thing, just hanging out indoors and doing our thing. Beats the cold!

Chuck E Cheese's: Reed's been twice for birthday parties. It's right beside the Eagle Rock Target so sometimes he would ask to go when we were out getting diapers. Finally he learned (after being told a hundred times?) Chuck E Cheese's is for birthdays, and we had our turn.

Reed's cousin had always been told they didn't go to Chuck E Cheese's because the pizza was yucky. (seriously, that's what his parents told him!) One day at church his friend was telling him they went to Chuck E Cheese's and Ian said, "oh, we don't go there because the pizza is gross." His friend immediately said, "no it isn't, it's really good!" Ian turned around and stared down his mother!

Ahhh...I love that you have sheltered your children from Chuck-E-CHeese...that is just so funny. Oh, and Owen's muddy face is just too cute for words.

I love those pics with the mud on his face. My little one keeps asking about Chuck-e-Cheese when we drive by and I tell her it's for bigger kids, is that bad?!

Fun for Lucy to experience Chuck E Cheese. I thought Jeremy would move on to other things now...but no, he still LOVES that place. Funny pics of Owen in the muddy water.
