Did I mention that I LOVE my new camera and telephoto lens?

and I also love the Huntington Gardens.
Since we were headed there today with friends, I knew there would be all sorts of fun photo ops. The beautiful scenery, cute kids, and awesome camera did not dissapoint!

Caden:
Lucy:
Kamdyn
Most of the outing was spent like this: Lucy following Caden, or Caden following Lucy (and often getting into trouble on the edge of a huge lake)
The Chinese Garden
...not to be confused with our next stop at the Japanese gardens. Our whole group: Megan with Caden and Eli, Annie with Camdyn, and Lucy (and Owen, somewhere):This is one of my favorite pictures of the day. How beautiful is Annie? And I love those colors:
There were all sorts of Coi Fish in the little river and all three kids thought it a great idea to hang over the bridge and point them out. Glad no one fell in!
Oddly enough, there were tons of Asian tourists in both Asian gardens. Wonder if they found it all ho-hum....or spot-on:
We finished our outing at the Children's, Secret Garden where there were all sorts of water pots and fountains to splash in. It was perfect on a surprisingly hot January day. Owen was ultimately happy and was completely drenched by the time we left:
I love my Canon Rebel! (and I love these cute kids)

You are the ulitmate photographer. Mostly because you're a mom and totally busy with two little ones, but take the time to take all these incredible pictures! Granted having a nice camera helps, but it's totally you. Way to go Dana!

What gorgeous pictures. And as to your question about the Asian gardens, I think that the Huntington's Asian garden is prettier than any I've seen in Japan-- and we've done our share of visiting the gardens around here. It's WAY prettier than the gardens at the imperial palace.

Notes to self: MUST get SLR camera. MUST move to SoCal and enjoy fantastic weather year-round (it's beautiful here, and we very nearly have seasons, but we're sure not wearing short sleeves in January!!).

You are SO talented!! I can't wait to see more. It helps when you have adorably cute subjects like your darling kiddos!

(I got a wide angle lens for my Nikon for Christmas but I'm still trying to figure it out.)

You are a way better photographer than me...I really should practice more w/ my Rebel Xsi. Any tips/tricks/books I should read?
