what we've been up to

For our first month here in Texas, Casey had the whole month off of work. So we got busy on home improvement projects. And though it may not seem like a lot to show for it, we installed a ton of crown molding:
painted, and painted, and painted....
and put in a whole lot of base boards:
Casey has been the master carpenter and I have been the painter. We bought this handy paint gun to go with our compressor and it has been dreamy. I've learned a lot about painting (with a gun and a brush) and my arms, wrists, and body have been sore for days at a time from working in our sweatshop garage:
We've stripped and re-finished furniture:We certainly got sick of relaxing in office chairs:
and sharing slightly cozier chairs:
We've eaten a TON of corn on the cob. For some reason my kids are going nuts over it. I buy it every time we go to the store.
We've set up the train a few times on our garage sale coffee table:
Perfect fit!
Lucy watched a movie in her room, while we enjoyed some General Conference.
I found these awesome scooters at a garage sale. One for each kid. Of course, they still fight over riding the same scooter all the time.

There's been dress-ups:
sippy cups:
and plenty of cuteness.
It's been a busy couple of months! With Casey now back at work, our Saturday projects are growing. But that's just life as a home owner. Before and After pics of the home coming soon!

There are ALWAYS projects & things to do as a homeowner. Our "To Do" is never ending. I love all the moldings, beautiful. You & Casey are a good team doing all this. I can't wait to see the kitchen cabinets. I love what I can see in the last picture.

OK--LOVE the yellow. Totally one of my favorite colors.

Nice garage sale finds!! Whoo hoo!!

I love the way the couches turned out--nice color!

And I'm with Nicole, the kitchen cabinets look fabulous from what I can see.

All your hard work is certainly paying off. When I am ready to paint I know who to come to with questions!

My fave part about the train: the line of princesses waiting to board!

Your house looks great. It's fun to see all the changes you are making. Are those the custom couches that you had made? You should take pictures of them so we can see them better. Do you have a bigger space for your sewing now?
