The little moments

It was one of those days when whatever I said, Lucy wanted the opposite and was adamant about it. There were a chain of time-outs and many moments when I just had to walk away or I'd break down in tears of frustration. How can a person so tiny drive me so insane?

Later that afternoon I let the kids help me make banana muffins and when they were done, we sat on our front porch, eating, and watching the sun go down. Little Lucy, who had made my life miserable all day long, came over, put her arms around me and with a squeeze said "I love you mom."
Thank you, I thought. It was just what I needed....That reminder that somehow she recognizes the things we do for her, as her parents. It seemed to be her way of saying sorry for the horrible day Mom. Thank you Lucy. I love you too.

Awww!! That is so sweet. What a sweetheart. I agree on so many levels of what you went through. They know, they are smart and they sure know how to make it better. Gotta love those little ones. DARLING pictures!

Oh, we are so THERE. Two isn't terrible, but three sure can be a butthead sometimes, and so sure of what they want! M is always quick with the hugs, though, making it hard to feel frustrated for too long. Go, Lucy for making it all better!

oh man been there done that. many times. i've got to show you the posts of when jake was overseas and i would "lose it" and i would make it better by running outside in the backyard from one side of the yeard to the other side of the yard in the snow screaming at the top of my lungs...just to come back in and have the kids say "you're funny mom!!!" yup that's me super funny mommy!
but it helped a little.

What a sweetie. Mine drives me crazy almost every day.Terrible twos started at one so now it is the third year. I don`t know how can I survive if she continues on.. I try to teach her and say I love you a lot but instead she say I don't love mommy. Well.... what can I say may be one day she will love me.
Your guys are so lovely. So cute
