Better late than never?

Lucy turned 1 in February. We got around to taking her "1 Year Old" pictures in May. And now in August, I'm postings the prints. They turned out cute and of course I bought more than I'll ever need. But if you go to J.C. Penny, you can get all of these for only $30! (with their coupon). They had to have lost money on my photo session. If you're in the market for portraits, you must go there.
As smiley and cute as she looks, she wasn't too into the process. But she did enjoy the cake, once she realized what it was there for.
So, here's Lucy at "1 year old"!

Those are soooo cute!! She looks so adorable. I Love the pictures, they did a great job! Did they do the cake for you or did you make it & bring it with you? What a sweet little girl!

We were able to bring the cake. We had to bring a sheet to go under her. But my friend had a brown tablecloth she let me borrow and it worked great! Honestly, I'm really impressed with J.C.Penny. You've got to take the girls there!

Those pictures are so cute. I recommend the Target studio, too. (I think they're run by the same photography group as JC Penny.)

A few questions: 1) Did you take all those photos in one sitting? 2) If so, how on earth did you keep her interested through all those costume changes? 3) Did you call ahead to ask if it was okay to bring the cake? 4) How did you think up the idea for the cake? It's adorable. We use both Target and JC Penney, and they are run by the same company. It's just harder to find Targets with portrait studios.

Hi Brittany,
Yes...we did take all those photos is one "sitting", which is why she wasn't too into it all. JC Penny actually recommended the 3 outfits. But if I did it again, I'd just stick with one. We only have one picture in the jeans outfit b/c in the rest of the Jeans pics, she's crying.
The cake I made. It was actually fun. I used smaller pans so I could make a 3-tiered cake from one cake mix and make it look a little taller. They also recommended that I bring the cake, since it was her first birthday, but I had bring something to put underneath it, so I wouldn't ruin their backdrop.
I brought the flowers too (left-overs from Mother's Day, woohoo!) They actually have some "props" there, but I liked real flowers better.
Good to know that Target is the same portrait company. That's much closer! (well, if I can find one with a studio)
