Cooler Friday
With sunny weather in the 70s, we spent our Friday California style, at this place:
How cute is the California Adventure sign? Nothing says Halloween to me like a bunch of Candy Corn. And one that's 7 feet tall? Perfect!
We got there around noon and the park was semi-empty. The tram was a breeze, only waiting 2 minutes for the stroller line. Nice!
I had to get replacement passes (since ours were in my stolen wallet). But the kids were troopers and waited patiently. Owen had awesome sunblock hair and Lucy was in a semi-serious mood most of the day:
On our first visit to Bug's land 6 months ago, Lucy did NOT want to go on any rides. Today, however, she eagerly waited in line for the silly caterpillar "train":
The most fun of our day was playing in the Brother Bear park. (I love going to Disneyland so the kids can play on toys found at most parks near our house):
Lucy discovered how to step on the rocks herself, to avoid landing in the water. Eventually though, she realized that splashing in the water was more exciting:
Owen was able to get down and climb around:
And they even posed for a cute little pic (I have so few pictures of the two of them together, I'm trying to gather more):
The highlight of the trip for me was...the drive home! Both kids slept, I ate kettle korn, drank a diet coke, and listened to all sorts of talk radio.
I didn't even mind the traffic we got stuck in. With a quiet car and sweet treats, it was the happiest place on earth for me!

I like how you multi-task -- blogging and listening/watching Conference at the same time. Or, are you like me, waiting until the kids are asleep and watching one session a night until you get through them all? Thank goodness for the Internet.

Your day sounds PERFECT! Oh how I miss Disneyland (my pass is still good). Disneyland in October is THE BEST. Oh, and kettle corn and a diet coke!? Perfect.
Yay! That is awesome! I love Disneyland so much. Tim and I dig Bug's Land, but we always skip over the Brother Bear play area. However, once Weston starts walking, I bet we'll go there every time because there are so many fun things to run and play on!

What a fun day! I have always wanted to see Disneyland during Halloween all decorated as well as Christmas time. Glad you guys get to enjoy it.
YAY for Disneyland, sleeping kids, kettle corn and, of course, diet coke. Sounds like a perfect day!
I love the Haunted Mansion dressed up as nightmare before Christmas. I discovered it for the first time last year. I'm going next week, can't wait!!!!!
It's been said.... but the best part, driving home with a diet coke and something yummy to snack on!!! A good day

So sad we missed you guys. I love that the kids just wanted to play on the slide! We had to almost force Grace to ride the peter pan ride, mostly because she gets SO scared of everything. When we got off she was like, hey that was fun. =) Next time you go, call us!
