Noah's Ark
Today we went with friends to the coolest kids exhibit:
Noah's Ark at the Skirball Center.
The Museum is beautiful and modern in design and the exhibit is everything a kid would love.
Sherri, Karla, and I have kids around the same age and we look a little funny with our medley of double-strollers:
Waiting for our 3pm entrance time:
And Owen got to play baby Roo:
He wasn't too sure about it all:
The next room is inside the ark. There are all sorts of stuffed animals to play with, books to read, and this miniature ark which Lucy could have spent an hour playing with (organizing the animals):
The third room is a maze of nets and tunnels for climbing:
There's also an old school kitchen area with loaves of bread, a pot-over-a-fire for cooking, and veggies:And a few brooms for the kids to swab the deck and clean up the (fake) animal poop:
Big Owen had an adventure climbing around the jungle gym of nets. Karla finally had to head up there and help him get down:
The last room is my favorite. It looks like this:
It's the other side of the Arc and the entrance to Land and Peace.
A little blurry but I love Paige's expression here as Karla spins her in a basket. I'm sure the kids in Noah's time had similar simple pleasures:
Me and the kids:After and hour or so inside, we headed outside for a snack break and found this great amphitheater. The 4pm weather was perfect:
For as much fun as the kids had inside, they were just as content acting silly outside on the steps:Owen, Grace, and Lucy. Cute friends.
Owen found his own little spot at the top of the stairs:
And that was our trip! We had a great time and it's something we'll be doing again!
If you're ever in town or live in the LA area, sign-up for tickets. Every Thursday is FREE but you have to get tickets in advance. Just go their website and click on any Thursday to see what's available (you can get up to 10 tickets at a time). Another bonus, parking is FREE too!
We love this place.

This baby can't come soon enough!
I'm starting to see all the grown up stuff is soo boring compared to taking your kid to crap like that!

Wow, that's such a nice-looking exhibit! I have NEVER heard of the Skirball Museum. I learn a lot about fun things to do from your blog, Dana. :-)

Great description Dana, hopefully "they" will find you :)
I was just thinking about Noah's Ark exhibit and how Michael would really love it. I had no idea that Thursdays were free or I would have gone earlier. Can't wait to try it.
Those turned out so cute but ummmmm.....what's with the tight shirt? Someone should have told me....after 2 babies..that's just not working. HA! That was fun...thanks for the invite! We need to do it again.
Wow, that looks even more fun than I'd heard. I'll have to check it out with Ally.
Awesome! I will have to check it out next time we're in town.
Oh, and that photo of Owen in the pouch!?! Adorable!
Oh man, my kids would be in heaven. Why is swabbing the deck fun there, but cleaning their rooms is torture?
Looks like a fun place!
I have been wanting to go there for years! I just ... can't ... for one reason or another. Your pictures just make me want it more!

Wow, you sure live in a cool place. It seems like there is always something fun to take your kids to. I LOVE Lucy's straight mouth. And I also love her cute organizational skills with the animals. Looks like a really fun place to go!
