Simple fix
Starting last week, my car's had a hard time getting out of the Park gear. By Monday I couldn't get it out of Park at all. So we've been driving Casey's truck (which I think was adding to my "it's hot" frustration. Of course I'm so thankful to have an extra car to drive! But it's much harder to park on the street, get the kids in and out, and lug the stroller in and out of the house...all in the heat. But again, better than being stranded in the house).
The thought of taking the car in to get fixed was already sounding like a chore. So instead, my brilliant husband got on some message boards, did the process of elimination, and discovered this:
This tiny little part (the size of a chapstick) found under my brake pedal was shot. Thus, when I pushed on the brake and tried to get the car out of Park, nothing registered. So, he went to Honda at 8am this morning, spent $9 on a new part, installed it here at the house, and by 8:30 my car was good and ready to go! Now that's the kind of car problem I can deal with! We're back to our familiar wheels and roomy trunk space. Hooray!

I HATE car problems, but LOVE when they are that simple & that CHEAP! I am glad you have your car back in working condition.
Ha! I had the SAME problem with my Honda too! It was mighty annoying and I don't have 2 kids and it wasn't a thousand degrees when my honda had the issue.
Casey is awesome and I don't even really know him. Sad for me.
YAY for Casey! Glad it is fixed!!
Hooray! That's so awesome that Casey was able to fix your car so easily and inexpensively!
