Prisoner in my own living room
I hate to sound like a broken record to my husband and friends. But seriously...
IT IS HOT.
and it's October 1st.
These last two weeks have been pretty miserable, in the 100s. I guess my real complaint with this heat (aside from the non-existent park trips) is that we don't have real A/C in our apartment. We have one small A/C unit in our front room and it really only cools that one room. So we spend our days in the living room (or at the mall play-toys). Earlier this year, we installed ceiling fans in the bedrooms and that has helped a ton. But the kitchen? (where I have my sewing shop set-up) Ugh. Gross and hot. And forget about turning on the oven to bake anything for dinner. I guess it's salad and bread tonight!
My point is:
If it feels like I live in Arizona, I may as well be living there in a house, with a splash pad or pool on every corner.
Maybe I believe in global warming afterall...

Why don't you move to Huntington Beach? It would be fun. We're complaining about the 80 degree weather.
Eric
Yuck. Sorry. It's in the 80's here, too. But I'm LOVING it.
ha ha about your global warming comment... i have those same thoughts some days, then i tell myself that i can't follow anything Al Gore supports!
Sorry it's so hot here, and that you're without splash pads. i'll send cooler weather wishes your way.
yeah move out here! i'm only miserable when i'm not in the a/c or in the water! come come!
be a broken record all you want, this weather really is SCHORCHING! It's so hot that I walk outside and am instantly a bit cranky...
come visit us! i have the AC cranked and i feel guilty about it. i wouldn't feel so bad if we were sharing the cool air. we're pretty much trapped inside too.
I agree with Rachael.
UGHHHH. Seriously! This is why I moved out of Arizona...well one reason! Luckilly we have A/C and that is the ONE bill I love to pay every month. It's like a fridge all the time and I love it. So so so spoiled, sorry man. But I just came in from being outside and it's going to take me 2 hours to cool off. I hate it!!!!!
yuck yuck yuck! That's how it was earlier in the summer in the bay area. Not fun at all!
Yuck, I am sorry it is so hot! It is in the 80's here but starting this weekend it is dropping to the 60's
I am dying! It has been so hot down here too the past few days. I can't even stand it.
I'm hearing you with the heat. It is nasty!!! I've been dying every day....and I can't WAIT for the possible rain that may be coming this weekend.
P.S. I liked the HB comment Laura made. That would be fun.......and they're slash pads and pools on every corner here. : )
Totally, Eric! Who cares about Casey's commute? Hey, why don't we all go live in Honolulu? It's sunny and mild year-round!
I hear ya. (Except about the arizona part, I still don't know if I'd want to live there... :) We have an old O'Keefe and Merrit range which is GORGEOUS, but which has perma-pilot light... it's always hot in the kitchen. No A/C. You are a trooper, no air cond. with kids...
Yes. Seriously. It's waaaaay too hot for October. I hate baking right now, too - it just turns into The Oven Vs. The Living Room A/C!! Blarg.
We should hang out at the mall toys again. :-P
Not to brag, but it's perfect in Portland right now...
Of course in another couple of weeks I won't see the sun again for about another year... :)
