June Gloom

Every year I act surprised when the month of June rolls around and it's cloudy and cold. I think to myself, isn't it summer time? Shouldn't it be sunny and warm? And then I remember...duh, I've lived here for 32 years....and it's always like this in June! In fact, I probably posted a similar post like this last year.
So here I am to tell myself, GET USED TO IT. And to tell you what we've been up to on these cloudy days.

Remember that pie I made last week....
I can't say that Casey helped me eat any of it. But I will report that both kids are pumpkin pie fans! Hooray!

We've played at the park, the mall, and a few times just had friends come over and play in our backyard. Enjoying the drizzly day:
Sunshiney-Hannah:
Playing in our ghetto asphalt pot-holes:
Enjoying the opportunity to wear a hood:
Sammy on the back porch, sporting his neon casts. He's doing really well since his leg surgery a few weeks ago and comes out to "play" as much as he can. Lucy doesn't really understand why he can't run around with her and Hannah. But she thinks Sammy's "pink boots" (as he calls them) are super cool:
And baby Helene, chilling wherever and going with the flow:
Well, nice knowin ya, June Gloom! We'll enjoy you while you last since the summer heat is coming soon. But I wouldn't mind if you let the sun peek out every now and then. Just a suggestion.

Oh those are darling pictures. We are having June thunderstorms, though we still get a lot of sunshine when the storm rolls in, it quickly rolls out a few times a day. Hope the sun peeks out real soon for you!

Sorry about the June gloom... I would feel sorry for you, but it's only 1 month a year! The kids still look like they are having a fantastic time!!

June gloom was my favorite! It reminded me of Seattle. I just love gray days!

I agree with Becky--I AM lucky that you take such great pics of my kids!!

The June Gloom has been much more rainy this time around, IMO, but I'm totally loving it! (For now...ask me again in a few weeks--haha). I'm just not quite ready for the 100+ degree days this summer. Especially with no swimming time for Sammy. Can't wait for August when the boots come off!

Oh--and I meant to say that I LOVE Lucy's face in that picture with the hood. She looks so grown up to me.

I laughed out loud at the empty pan picture...June Gloom is making me want to stay inside and just eat!

Oh my gosh! Seriously depressing weather! When we were there a couple weeks ago it was gloomy every day! (Except the day we were leaving- go figure.) And what's with the "it's raining but not really raining" rain? So different than Utah. So different!

So THAT'S what it's called. I thought it might be "schools-out-and-it's-raining-and-even-though-the-kids-are-great-they-are-starting-to-drive-me-nuts". Nope, it's just June gloom :) Those cute pics cheered me right up!

Yeah, I've had enough of the June gloom also! I just looked at the 10 day forecast... rain all 10 days... it's already been raining for about a week!
