Owen's Blessing Day

We blessed little Owen James Willard in church yesterday. Casey did a wonderful job and said many sweet things in the blessing.
Owen was the perfect gentleman and didn't cry or let out a peep.
Most of the Suman side came up from Orange County and many of the Willards came from Simi Valley and Thousand Oaks. It was much fun to have all our family at church with us.
And it was even more fun to have everyone hang out at our house afterward. I was worried our place would be super cramped, but we pushed the furniture back and there was room for everyone....especially those that sat outside enjoying the sunshine!
Eric and the kids kicking the ball around. Nice action shot.
Grandpa and Grandma Willard:
Aunt Lauren with Owen:
Lucy got some great birthday presents too. Uncle Chad and Aunt Lauren brought her a drum set with all the instruments attached. Lucy was in love and wouldn't let anyone else have a turn with the drumsticks. And Grandpa Willard has been working for months on this fabulous marble track and here it is! It's so cool, looks so professional, and Lucy and Jeremy loved playing with it:
Casey showed Lucy how to blow the marbles down the track. She interpreted that as "kiss" the marbles:
Here she is enjoying both her gifts at the same time:
My favorite was when she sat on the couch between both Grandpas and couldn't figure out which one was Papa. She just looked back and forth going "Papa? Pa?"
We had a fun fun day. Thank you everyone who drove up for it! And little Owen, we're glad you're part of our family.

Owen is so handsome in his outfit! And that marble track is so cute. We used to play with (Great-) Grandma Willard's at her house as kids!

I'm having some pretty serious California-Envy between the sunshine-y pictures, and all the fun outings! Owen is such a cutie -- that smile could melt a polar ice cap!

The best part of the blessing day was looking into the congregation and recognizing most everyone from your previous blog posts. They have no idea who I am, but it felt like a family reunion to me! And that must be the Eric who made all those cookies... I made them on Sunday - fast craving - and they were/are awesome. Tell Eric thanks.
