Weekend Update

Last weekend we had unsettled stomachs and Top Ramen for dinner. This weekend we were back in the swing of things with happy kids, Chipotle for lunch, and a trip to the LA temple.

On Friday, we headed to the LA Zoo with Doris and her kids. All the kids, except Owen (surprisingly), were in cranky moods. There were a few bright spots in the outing but for the most part there were tears and emotion. That's not how the zoo should be! No worries though. Since Doris has a membership, I'm sure we'll be mooching off her again! Especially since she does the Zoo my style: don't bother with the boring stuff, walk quickly to the cool stuff, and let the kids out at the really great animals. It was perfect. Lucy liked the gorillas, tigers, and giraffes. And how milk drunk is Owen?Funny picture of Lucy and Hannah. For some reason, climbing concrete steps seems to be the highlight of any outing, no matter where we are:
On Saturday, I got some sewing in while Casey took Lucy to the park and Owen slept. I've been setting goals for myself to get my inventory up and get the site ready for business again. So far, so good. I've made 10 blankets, hair clips, and tried out a few branded Tees for Owen, my guinea pig:

That night we left the kids with friends and spent a few hours at the LA temple. It was absolutely perfect and just what I needed after a long week with the kids. The twilight sky was really beautiful: Afterward, we headed to Chilis for yummmmy burgers and fries. I haven't been there for about year! I miss their silly side salads with bleu cheese dressing.
Sunday evening we let the kids play at a nearby park. Owen did what Owen does best: look for wood chips and eat them as quickly as possible.
Lucy had fun running circles around him:And they both paused long enough to grab some cute photos:
Lucy and her immodest shirt:
I promise I love Owen just as much:
To finish off the evening, chocolate chip cookies anyone? Of course! On a whim, I bought these chips at the store the other day because 1) they were on sale and 2) they looked so fancy that I had to give them a try. They did NOT disappoint. I hope they're on sale again!
And while I've been blogging, Lucy found a stash of Trader Joe's stickers and is having a good ole time sticking them. Simple pleasures (and yet another reason why I love TJs):
Good weekend to everyone! Hope you had a nice one.

Hey,
Adorable pictures of the kids. I love the one of you and Casey. Doesn't it feel good to have a real deal date? The temple is always so refreshing. Great post. LOVED the Orange post too! Lets hang out again this week!

I love so many things about this post... 1- the LA Temple, 2- Chilis (I can't go to the Provo/Orem one without having flashbacks of MANY nights there with everyone), 3- Trader Joes. They so badly need to come to Utah! I'm not a big zoo fan, but I do love the LA zoo.

Fun week for you guys!

So cool that you went to the temple. It's hard to go with a nursing baby (that won't take a bottle) - I can't wait to get back.
I love all your orange stuff, too. I can't wait to see the shirt you come up with to go with that darling skirt.

Guittard are the BEST! That's all I ever use, unless the store is out.

Everyone already said what I wanted to say. But most importantly, Guittard chips are the best! They are bigger and tastier than Nestle or any other brand. I prefer the milk choc. in any choc. chip cookie recipe. I'll never go back to any other brand.

I do have to add I love the pic of you and Casey at Chili's. You look so relaxed and refreshed- exactly what a date night to the temple and dinner out should do for you!
