Reese's Peanut Butter cups are like Apples

When they're fresh and perfect, they're SOOOO good. When they're even a little off, they're a total waste.
If you knew me in college, you often found a bag of mini peanut butter cups in our freezer (there are a lot of things I like to eat frozen). I never really thought I had a "problem" with peanut butter cups until Casey answered a spotlight about me a few months ago. They asked him what my favorite candy was. He said, "She usually has a few mini peanut butter cups in her purse at all times."
Um? Yea. That's actually true.
I guess I do have a problem.
But that's not the purpose of this post. I simply want to point out that it's taken me years to realize....

ONLY BUY PEANUT BUTTER CUPS WHEN THEY'RE IN-SEASON (which happens every time there's a new holiday and a new wrapper color). Why am I only now figuring this out? Well, there seems to be a holiday every month or so these days. So usually, I've scored fresh ones. After Christmas, however, there weren't any Valentines cups so I bought a regular bag. NO GOOD. Dry, stale, pointless.....trashed them. But now that Easter's rolled around, I grabbed this sweetness on Saturday. Yummmm.
Go indulge. And make me feel better about my addiction.

I LOVE Reeses. I even have a Reeses charm on my bracelet! Candy bars with peanut butter in them are SO much better than those without...

ha! funny post. thank you for confessing your addiction to sugar as well..although b/c yours is confined to reese's you are just a beginner.
i loooove reeses. the medium-sized easter eggs are 2/$1 at ralphs right now -- a personal fave of mine. do you like those too or are you partial to mini ones?

Haha. Well, there are more things that I'm addicted too, but I just haven't confessed all on the blog yet :).

And yes, I really just love the mini ones....they're the perfect ratio to me. Casey's thinks otherwise. He only likes the larger cups.
I was bummed at Valentine's time b/c instead of making regular mini cups with red/pink wrappers, they came out with mini hearts. Not the same. Ratios are off.

A few years back they had mini cups with tiny chocolate cookie pieces in the bottom. Those were great. I don't like the white choc. ones very much though.

I'm the exact same way. I LOVE reese's minis and have notice they are best "in season".

I'm freaking out with Dana's second comment. Talk about Die Hard. She needs to be sposored by them. They need to give her a free button on her MADE blog so they can advertise free, give her fresh candy when it is in season, and just tap her into an iv. Go girl!

I had no idea you felt so passionate about these! I am the same with M&M's... and dark chocolate chips.

Totally with you on the ratio thing. I ONLY like the mini pb cups..any other size/shape and the taste is totally off. Glad I'm not the only weirdo. :)

the freshness thing is true for Oreo's, too-- it's always better to buy the holiday/seasonal ones!

Have you tried the Trader Joe's peanut butter cups? EVIL. The mini-minis are great too.
