getting ready for the 4th

I saw this fabric at JoAnns a month ago and decided it must become Owen's 4th of July outfit. Afterall, the 4th is one of my favorite holidays so it deserves new clothes.
He looks a little bowm-chika bowm bowm in it but um...nothing says patriotism like disco and satin?
And for Lucy, I revamped last year's dress and created a skirt.
Here's the before and after. What a difference a year makes. She was just a baby then.Time to get packed for a day of swimming, hot dogs, and the Angel's game fireworks.

Congrats on sewing the shirt. I know from personal experience they are sort of tricky. Maybe you didn't think so. I bought fabric like that for blankets, but the ones with the yellow or green dots instead of blue.
My kids have no festive clothes...boring.

Yes, the collar was a bit tricky, but I used another one his outfits as the pattern. Overall it wasn't bad. I'm going to make another one is something less "noisy".

Wow, Dana! You are amazing with a needle and thread, I love both the kids' outfits! I wish we lived closer so you could give me sewing lessons! I really really want to learn how to sew!

You are amazing!! No pattern and your creations turn out so great. I love how you put your label in Owen's outfit as well. Lucy looks so cute with her dress a skirt now too. Clever!

Have a great 4th of July!!

Wow -- yay you!

Owen is so stylin'. I don't know what my boys are going to wear tomorrow. The "Team Canada" hockey shirt from the winter olympics is in the wash. ;-)
