Seriously?

We spent an hour in Target, had a cart full of stuff, and I couldn't find my wallet. Seriously? It's not in my purse? Maybe it was in the car? The checker held my stuff while I went out to look. It wasn't there. Seriously? Maybe I left it at home....
Back into the store. I'm not sure who was more annoyed about the missing wallet, the checker or me. Thankfully at that moment, I heard a "Dana!" It was Sherri. She so kindly offered to buy my stuff for me so they wouldn't have to put it all back (and so I wouldn't have to come shopping again for the same items, with 2 kids). Thank you dearly Sherri.

When we got home, I searched everywhere in the house and car. No wallet. Seriously? NO Wallet? Where did it go??
My Theory...
I kinda think it was stolen while we were in Target. I know I had it earlier when we got home in the morning. There were a few times while at Target that the aisles were SO crowded with other baskets that I left my cart at the end of the aisle and quickly grabbed the item I needed. My purse is fairly open and shallow. Someone could easily have swiped it when I walked away. Lame. And lesson learned.
The Good:
* I really did need a new wallet.
* There was only $5 cash in there. Sucker.
The Bad:
* Hours of time will be spent dealing with Customer Service issues and the DMV. We've already called all the banks.
* Customer Service numbers suck.

The bright spot in our day....
We stuck with our dinner plans and picked up Casey from the train:
Then had a picnic at the park. I guess the day turned out okay.

Ick.... that stinks. It's such a hassle to have to cancel everything and get new cards/licenses, etc... I'm so sorry.

Great job on the cookies (both the chocolate chip, and the stars and stripes!). It was fun to read all the entries on the 4th!

That is SUCH a bummer. I'm so sorry. Dealing with that is the worst. 3 years ago I got my purse stolen at Target too (the SA one on Alton/Bristol).

Aww, man! That's NO fun!! I'm sending poop vibes to the person who stole your wallet.

Yay for Sherri the Angel, though. What perfect timing!! She gets the Awesome Award for the week.

That's a bummer. I once left my diaper bag (mom for purse) on the bottom of my shopping cart in the parking lot of Big Lots. I drove away before I realized it was missing, but I went back and they had it inside the store. They asked to see ID, but duh, it was in the bag. They checked my license and gave me my stuff, it was a miracle.

Maybe you should move to Utah...

I can totally relate. I've lost my wallet twice and once on vacation (and you can't fly home with out I.D!) Luckily we found it each time but it was until after hours/days of searching and much grumpiness. A lost wallet stinks, big time! Way to look on the bright side.
