Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I hope you had a wonderful weekend full of breakfast in bed, homemade gifts, and Primary kids singing from the stand. Ours was great too. It started with flowers (thanks honey!):
And my first homemade Lucy gift, made in Nursery at church. It was so adorable and unexpected. I can't wait for these little gems in the years to come:
I love her expression, "yea, um...hey mom"
And although this may sound funny, I loved my Sunday afternoon because I spent it cleaning up and baking. Casey asked if I wanted to take a nap or drive around by myself and look at homes. But I told him that what I wanted most was to have an hour alone in the kid's room (withOUT the kids) to get it cleaned up. It was a disaster area since I've been cleaning out their closets and drawers. And with kids napping or playing in there, I never seem to get it cleaned up. So Casey kept the kids in the other room and I organized. It was great! And it looks SO much better now. Then I made a peach pie for our dinner at his parent's house. Yummm.
My mom's birthday is the week before Mother's Day and Casey's mom's is the week after. So we celebrated birthday and motherhood with Grandma Linda last night. Two cuties:
Lucy wandered around the backyard, checking out all the berries on the vine. I love their backyard. It is so beautiful and pleasant. I'll miss it one day when they move:
Owen hung out with Grandpa:
And Lucy sat on Grandma's lap. It's so cute to hear her say "Grandma, Grandma" when we're at their house. Happy Birthday Grandma! Glad we could spend the evening with you!
I'm very blessed to have these two wonderful children. They just get more and more fun as they grow and develop their personalities. And who can resist that crazy looking scowl on Owen's face? I love you kids!

Wow, those flowers are beautiful! I always love to hear what mom's responses are to every husbands what-do-you-want-to-do-today question. You can never pass up a chance to organize. It was a good day to be a mom :)

You're such a good mom! I'm glad you had a great Mother's Day - it's nice to have a day to do whatever we want (mine was taking a bath uninterrupted - it was great!!)

Oh, to answer your question, I am due two weeks from tomorrow. If it's anything like my other kids, I could go any day. I'll keep you posted :)

Your kids are SO darling and are a perfect reflection of what a great Mom you are. Happy Mother's Day!

It sounds like you had a great Mother's Day. I love the little thing Lucy made in nursery.

I remember the first year Jeremy brought something like that home from nursery with a little poem and his hand print. I totally got choked up and teary eyed thinking that one day he would be all grown up. But...I guess that's what we want them to do and what we're teaching them to become (self-sufficient, capable adults), but sometimes I wish he could just stay this age forever.

Also, I love the flowers....so pretty!
